Lana Sokolov - Singer-Composer
With a Jewish Actor for a grandfather and musician for a mother, Lana’s brush with music business was perhaps inevitable.
While music was always a big part of her life, her passion for the art fully bloomed while studying at the Academy Of Music.
In 1993, she said goodbye to her life in Tashkent and immigrated to Israel. Upon her arrival, she began working as a singer and conductor for a small vocal groups.
Throughout her years in Israel, Lana has remained a prominent figure in the local music scene.
Not only did she work as a music teacher, but also continued to create music by herself.
She has released a number of CD’s of her own on different languages and also with vocal groups covering some of the most popular songs in Israel.
Fittingly, it was while study Hebrew Culture at “Alma College” that Lana began getting in touch with her spiritual side.
Hebrew poetry had a direct influence on her music and led to a collaborative project entitled “Folktale-Jazz Ethnic Journey” in 2010.
She later moved to New York for three years and released a follow-up entitled “Jewish Love Songs”
Since her start in the music industry, her sound have gone as far as Russia, Italy, Germany, Ecuador and even the United States.
That said, with a jazz trio and chamber quartet, Lana’s legacy continues with her newest album of original songs
and program “Impressions” - the Real Story of Life lived through her music.
